How to delete your Vunzo account and all associated data
Last updated: August 15, 2026 · Applies to the Vunzo app for iOS and Android · Developer: Maksym Sharov
This page explains how to request deletion of your Vunzo account and the data associated with it. You can do this yourself inside the app, or by email if you no longer have the app installed.
1. Delete your account in the app (recommended)
This is the fastest way and takes effect immediately.
Open the Vunzo app and make sure you are signed in.
Go to Settings (the bottom navigation bar).
Tap your profile at the top to open the Account screen.
Scroll down and tap Delete account.
We send a 6-digit confirmation code to your email address. Enter that code to confirm.
Your account and its data are deleted permanently.
Deletion is irreversible. Once confirmed, your learning content cannot be restored. If you want to keep your words and progress, make sure they are saved elsewhere before you continue.
2. Request deletion by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, send a deletion request to:
privacy@vunzo.app
Send the request from the email address of the account you want deleted, so we can verify ownership.
Use the subject line “Delete my account”.
We process the request within 30 days and confirm by email once it is done.
If we cannot verify that the request comes from the account owner, we may ask for additional confirmation before deleting anything.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
Data
What it includes
Account & authentication data
Your email address, display name, user ID, password hash and linked sign-in providers (Google, Apple)
Learning content
All words, phrases, verbs, categories, example sentences, translations and review history you created
Settings & progress
App settings, chosen languages, spaced-repetition schedule and daily progress
Subscription status
Your Vunzo Pro entitlement record
Usage counters
The daily AI-hint usage counter kept to enforce limits
Data stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the account from that device, and in any case when you uninstall the app.
4. What is kept, and for how long
Anonymized AI cache — Vunzo stores AI-generated translations and hints in a shared cache so that other users do not repeat the same request. These entries contain the term and the response but no identifier of yours, so they are not linked to you and are not deleted with your account. They are kept indefinitely (low-value or empty results up to 365 days).
Billing and tax records — where a purchase was made, records required by law or by the app stores may be retained for the statutory retention period. Subscriptions themselves are managed by Apple or Google, not by us — see below.
5. Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your Vunzo account does not automatically cancel a Vunzo Pro subscription, because subscriptions are billed by the app store, not by us. Cancel it before or after deleting your account:
Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Vunzo → Cancel subscription.
iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Vunzo → Cancel subscription.
